Description

This lovely little bird is made of green, blue and purple stained glass, with a tiny accent of red at its throat, iridescent on one side. Each bird measures 6″ from wingtip to beak, and 5″ from head to tail. I started making this humming bird as a symbol of hope for a special customer. This particular hummingbird was custom made, custom requested as a birthday gift for one of my friend’s husbands. The hummingbird had been his mother’s favorite bird, and apparently had landed on her coffin during her funeral, so this bird was to be a reminder of happy times with his mother.

I make these lovely birds in many colours, and they can be wrapped in silver came, or finished with a copper patina like the one in the second picture.
